Kedah and Perlis Blood Banks Are Critically Low, Here’s How You Can Help
The Kedah Health Department has reported that Kedah and Perlis are facing blood supply shortage that’s nearing the critical level as reported by Astro Awani.

The shortage is partly due to the high amount of volume used during the recent Hari Raya festive season which leaves the current blood supply reserve to 500 pints.

The department’s director, Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said that they are desperately in need of around 800 pints of Type A and Type B blood to help stabilise the supply.

So, how can you help?

The Northern Region Blood Centre has amplified its efforts to increase their reserve through various blood donation drives.

You can help them by donating your blood at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB), the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital (HSAH) in Kedah, and the Tunku Fauziah Hospital in Perlis.

If you need any info regarding the blood donation drive, you can visit their Facebook page – Derma Darah Kedah/Perlis or alternatively contact their PR unit at 04-7746051, HSAH (04-4457371) or Kulim Hospital (04-4272733, extension 3123).
